Channel 6 Set for launch
A new television station is about to hit Ireland on March 30th. Channel 6 Ireland will have a target market of the under 35 age group. The station will only be showing on Chorus and NTL systems to begin with, due to a dispute with Sky over its carriage on their service, as previously reported on DO. However, the station can be viewed by 600,000 people in Ireland.
The shows that will be on the station include Star Trek, Sex and the City and Prison Break, although the station notes there will be some Irish shows in it’s lineup. The channel is reported to create 25 jobs. DO
